The original Batmobile was actually a customized Ford Lincoln Futura, a unique experimental car designed by William Schmidt and built in Italy by Ghia in 1955. The car appeared in the motion picture It Started With A Kiss (1959).It's based on a late 60s Dodge Charger — something this version of Wayne raced as a teenager.
