A major issue for Norway is its fishing resources, which are a significant part of the national economy and which would come under the Common Fisheries Policy if Norway were to accede to the EU. Norway has high GNP per capita, and would have to pay a high membership fee.Switzerland and Norway are not part of the European Union.
Why is Switzerland not in the EU : A Swiss referendum held on 6 December 1992 rejected EEA membership. As a consequence, the Swiss Government suspended negotiations for EU accession until further notice.
Who has left EU
The UK is the only sovereign country to have left the EU.
Who did not join the EU : Of the four major western European countries that are not EU members, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland have submitted membership applications in the past but subsequently frozen or withdrawn them, while the United Kingdom is a former member.
Slovakia joined the European Union in 2004 and adopted the euro on 1 January 2009.

The Czech Republic has been a member state of the European Union since the 2004 enlargement of the European Union. It is not a member of the eurozone.During the Cold War, Finland officially embraced a policy of neutrality. Since then, it has become a member of the European Union in 1995, the Eurozone in 1999, and NATO in 2023.
Four territories of EU member states have withdrawn: French Algeria (in 1962, upon independence), Greenland (in 1985, following a referendum), Saint Pierre and Miquelon (also in 1985, unilaterally) and Saint Barthélemy (in 2012), the latter three becoming Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union.
Is Turkey part of the EU : Relations between the European Union (EU) and Turkey were established in 1959, and the institutional framework was formalized with the 1963 Ankara Agreement. Albeit not officially part of the European Union, Turkey is one of the EU's main partners and both are members of the European Union–Turkey Customs Union.
Why is Turkey not in the EU : Turkey borders two EU member states: Bulgaria and Greece. Turkey has been an applicant to accede to the EU since 1987, but since 2016 accession negotiations have stalled. The EU has criticised Turkey for human rights violations and deficits in rule of law.
Is Czech Republic not part of EU
The European Union membership referendum in 2003 approved the country's accession with 77.3% in favour, and in 2004 the Czech Republic joined the EU.
With a gross national income per capita of $32,450 PPP in 2021, Slovakia belongs to the group of high-income economies. However, its economic growth has not been inclusive, exacerbating social divides, especially at the regional level.Sweden joined the European Union in 1995 and its accession treaty has since obliged it to adopt the euro once the country is found to comply with all the convergence criteria.
Why didn t Denmark join EU : Denmark formally applied to join the European Communities, the predecessor of the European Union, on 10 August 1961, a day after the British applied. However, the then President of France Charles de Gaulle vetoed British membership, and Denmark did not wish to join the EC without the United Kingdom.
