Why is London not GMT 0 : The hour difference is because in the UK during summer the UK uses British Summer Time (BST) which is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) plus one hour. That time change/difference is only apparent in the period April to October after which London and the UK reverts to GMT for the remainder of the year.
