However, soon afterwards Rick is murdered by Pamela's spoiled son Sebastian, who resents him; he reanimates as a walker, forcing Carl to kill him. Still, long after his tragic demise, Rick is remembered in the Commonwealth as a leader and hero.While Rick was previously assumed dead, the finale confirmed that he is — barely — still alive and attempting to escape a mysterious threat.
In Michonne's final episode, "What We Became," she learns the truth about Virgil's malicious intentions and discovers evidence that Rick is alive. She sets off to find him. Michonne briefly appears in the series finale, but her destination is still unknown.
