Hungary is legally allowed to leave the EU according to Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union.On 15 March 2022, Russia announced its withdrawal from the Council of Europe under Article 7. On 16 March, the Committee of Ministers decided to expel Russia with immediate effect.Slovakia joined the European Union in 2004 and adopted the euro on 1 January 2009.

During the Cold War, Finland officially embraced a policy of neutrality. Since then, it has become a member of the European Union in 1995, the Eurozone in 1999, and NATO in 2023.

It is the Czech government's intention that promoting the name Czechia will reduce confusion for English speakers and also enhance the country's identity and economy.

Why isn’t Czech in EU : Although the Czech Republic is economically well positioned to adopt the euro, following the European debt crisis there has been considerable opposition among the public to the adoption of the euro currency. There is no target date by the government for joining the ERM II or adopting the euro.
