The requirement to get into Top 500 is to play and win 25 matches in Role Queue or Open Queue. Overwatch 2 has eight skill tiers that come before the Top 500 rank. These include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Champion. Players between Bronze and Diamond can group up with others within two skill tiers.

I think you qualify if you played or won at least 25 games and have your phone number liked to the account. Otherwise: just keep climbing. Every top500 is different, but mostly you have to be GM to get into top500. Exception are unpopular modes or “fun” modes like open queue and other modes that are not REALLY comp.

TOP 500 LEADERBOARDS
The combined Role Queue Top 500 Leaderboard will be based on the player's average skill rating across all three roles. To be eligible for a role-specific leaderboard, players must complete at least 25 games in that role.
