Is The Last of Us over?
Naughty Dog has confirmed the threequel is happening, so where does it need to go The Last of Us Part 3 is official. It's in the earliest possible stages so we haven't seen a trailer, nor do we have any information about it, but creative director Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the threequel is coming.9The Last of Us / Number of episodes

1 Season | 9 Episodes | TV-MA.With regards to a possible third main installment in the series, in January 2023, Druckmann said "there's more story to tell", and by April the same year, Druckmann confirmed that he had a concept for a third main game in the series, stating that there's "probably one more chapter to this story."

Is there going to be a sequel to The Last of Us : HBO boss Casey Bloys shared on Nov. 2, 2023, that The Last of Us Season 2 will begin production in early 2024, according to Variety. The outlet also reported that The Last of Us was not included in the lineup for HBO's 2024 slate, suggesting that the earliest the series is expected to return is 2025.

Will Last of Us Part 3 have Ellie

It's safe to assume Ellie would return, though I doubt most people predicted a second Last of Us game would largely be without Joel, so who knows. A larger question would be if Abby would return after the events of the second game, or if her part in the story is over.

Why did Ellie let Abby live : The image of Joel flashing across the screen which prompts Ellie to let Abby live suggests Ellie will take a similar tack with Abby. Her killing Joel is unforgivable, just as Joel killing the Fireflies is. Perhaps forgiveness for both is impossible, but Ellie is going to try anyway.

HBO greenlit the series in November, adding executive producers Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan and production company Word Games, followed by production company the Mighty Mint in January 2021 and executive producer Rose Lam in February. The first season's ten-episode count was reduced to nine during production.

The finale implies Ellie's immunity is linked to Anna's bite on her inner thigh, corroborating a fan theory that Ellie's built-in protection against the cordyceps outbreak was the result of her mother somehow getting bitten before childbirth.

Does Joel lie to Ellie at the end

When she wakes up, Joel lies and says that the cure did not work. While Joel's decision to kill the Fireflies is controversial in its own right, the biggest issue coming out of the finale is that Joel chooses to lie to Ellie. Importantly, however, Joel only does this to protect Ellie. While not related by blood, Joel is the closet thing Ellie has ever had to a parent, let alone a father. Marlene, as much as she loved Ellie and tried to take care of her, was unable to take a parental role due to her responsibilities as a Firefly. The fact that Ellie is seemingly the only person immune to Cordyceps in history means that, whether the surgeon is sure or not, he will still be dedicated to trying to craft a cure. The reality is, both the original The Last of Us and HBO's TV adaptation of the game remain ambiguous on whether a cure would be possible.

Later in the episode, Ellie's mother's name is revealed to be Anna, when her lifelong friend Marlene (Merle Dandridge, who voiced the same character in the game) finds Anna in the farmhouse's nursery.

Why did Ellie stop killing Abby : Ellie Thought Of Joel During TLOU 2's Ending

Through that, not only did Ellie realize that this wasn't going to bring back Joel (or honor his memory), but that it would only be contributing to the cycle of violence. Allowing Abby to live in TLOU 2's ending was symbolic of her finally letting go.

Is season 1 of The Last of Us over : The first season of the American post-apocalyptic drama television series The Last of Us was originally broadcast on HBO between January and March 2023.

Can Ellie infect others

Ellie Almost Certainly Cannot Infect Others In The Last Of Us. While the end result of what would occur from a group of people eating Ellie – as was threatened in The Last of Us episode 8 – is unclear, there are some hints from The Last of Us Part II surrounding Ellie's immunity and how it works.

Ellie is the only known case of Cordyceps immunity, having been infected with a mutated benign strain. Joel has avoided infection, but it's safe to say that he's a “mere mortal”.The fact that Ellie is seemingly the only person immune to Cordyceps in history means that, whether the surgeon is sure or not, he will still be dedicated to trying to craft a cure. The reality is, both the original The Last of Us and HBO's TV adaptation of the game remain ambiguous on whether a cure would be possible.

Why did Joel stop the cure : Joel realizes the operation would kill Ellie because the Cordyceps grows inside the brain. He pleads to her to find someone else but Marlene tells him there is no one else.
