Thanos was born to A'Lars, a member of the Titans, a race of powerful, god-like beings that evolved on the planet of Titan. He belonged to the royal family of Titan and was the adoptive brother of the Eternal Eros, who eventually left Titan.Thanos is a mutant member of the race of superhumans known as the Titanian Eternals. The character possesses abilities common to the Eternals, but amplified to a higher degree through a combination of his mutant–Eternal heritage, bionic amplification, mysticism, and power bestowed by the abstract entity, Death.In the comics, Thanos was born to A'lars and Sui-San on the planet Titan and is a Deviant-Eternal hybrid, which was responsible for his purple pigmentation and deformed look. His mother, disgusted by the his appearance tried to kill him only to be stopped by his father.
Why is Thanos the only purple Titan : From his birth on Saturn's moon of Titan, Thanos was always an outsider. He carries a Deviants gene, which causes his gruesome and misshapen appearance, with purple, rugged skin. He was born among the last sons of Titan's original colonists: Mentor and Sui-San.
