Is Guild Wars 2 worth playing in 2024 : Yeah, it's probably worth it. GW2 is one of these games where old content is not always abandoned content, you still see really many players alking around in the older expansions, simply since it's still worth doing them. So the age of the game is not really a disadvantage.

Humans were the only playable race in the original Guild Wars. Sylvari are the only playable race not to appear in the original game, though the Pale Tree made an appearance as a sapling. Tengu were initially considered as a playable race. Their home city would have been the Dominion of Winds.

Content wise the Living World is very much worth it. Living world seasons 3-5 together even add more new maps to the game than the 3 expansions, and those mapss are by no means small or worse than expansion maps. And story wise it's inbetween the expansions, so very much required to understand the full story.

NCSoft confirmed during a shareholders meeting that the long-rumored Guild Wars 3 is officially in development, begging the questions of when it's coming out and why it's being made in the first place. Guild Wars 2 was released in 2012 and since launch, it has received plenty of updates and expansions.
You have to pack upgrades in GW1 and it's online only which kinda sucks. GW2 redeems itself with it being playable offline and its introduction with 6 new classes. Gw1 is a bit harder since auto heal caps at half health and there are a lot more cooler maps . I think these are the big differences.Guild Wars is, honestly, a single player game. You, of course, are set in MMO and have the option of endgame content, joining missions and quests with others, and pvp.. But you can do just about anything solo. Guild Wars has towns, and within those confines of the towns are portals that lead you to instances.
Is Guild Wars 1 or 2 better : Generally, if you like strategy, character management, and a great story, Guild Wars 1 is probably the way to go, so long as you can get past it being an older game. If you prefer action, group play (i.e. zergs), and crafting systems, Guild Wars 2 will probably be more to your taste.
