Since its introduction, the Airbus A380 has become an integral part of the Emirates fleet, especially on long-haul, high-density routes. The airline currently uses its A380-800s for service to over 40 destinations. Emirates' 100th A380 was delivered in October 2017. Furthermore, the airline had 41 more A380s on order, which would have increased the number of A380s in service to 141.Emirates expects to have the A380s flying well into the 2030s and early 2040s with all the upkeep they will perform on the aircraft. Emirates also signed long-term deals with Collins Aerospace, Safran Landing Systems, Honeywell and Lufthansa Technik to support the A380 on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow.

Today's additional orders mean Emirates will induct new 777-9s to its fleet until 2035. Emirates is also set to be one of the launch customers of the 777-8 passenger variant, with deliveries expected to begin in 2030. The new 777-9s and 777-8s will replace its retiring 777 aircraft.
