When a new player starts the game, they are thrown into a tutorial campaign that takes place in the Cosmodrome. There is no story in the free version, the maximum you can count on is a mediocre intro tutorial quest + the first mission of each expansion is available for free. In addition to this, for free, there are what is known here as "core playlists". Strikes, gambit and crucible.
